The Imaging Source Technologies
Overview

The Imaging Source develops, manufacturers and markets hardware and software components for word processing and image processing. The foundation of these components is modern, well established hardware and software technologies. Only they can guarantee low prices, low integration costs and longevity.
The .NET Framework
The .NET framework is Microsoft's® modern platform for software development. One of the key reasons to deploy this framework is to considerably speed up software development processes.
The Imaging Source supports this platform in its two world wide market leading word processing and image processing components: TX Text Control and IC Imaging Control.
C++
C++ is one of the most important programming languages. The object code that results from programs written in C++ is known for it efficiency and is therefore often used in CPU intensive applications.
For The Imaging Source, this development technology is especially important for its image processing component, IC Imaging Control.
ActiveX
Originally, ActiveX was the technology of choice for software applications that ran in a web browser. Nowadays, ActiveX has become a synonym for programming with Visual Basic.
The Imaging Source customers use these foundation level programmer technologies in TX Text Control and IC Imaging Control for the simple development of applications software.
DirectX
DirectX is a Windows based infrastructure that has specifically been designed to handle video data streams. If a software component is compatible to DirectX, it can access all DirectX compatible hardware.
The Imaging Source is the market leader in the application of these operating system based technologies in industry, medicine, science and security.
WDM
WDM stands for "Windows Driver Model". Hardware that works with a "WDM Stream Class" driver is immediately compatible to DirectX. WDM Stream Class drivers are therefore a central link between hardware and software components.
The Imaging Source is the market leader in the application of these driver technologies in industry, medicine, science and security.
DCAM
DCAM is a protocol that describes the exchange of data with FireWire cameras. The protocol was initiated by the working group IIDC at the 1394 Trade Association and is in a process of continual development. IIDC stands for "Instrumentation & Industrial Digital Camera".
All FireWire cameras that are manufactured by The Imaging Source are based on this predominate international protocol technology.
FireWire
The IEEE 1394 (FireWire) standard is often incorrectly described as a "video" or "multimedia" interface. Essentially, it is a bus with many undervalued properties.
The IEEE 1394 standard is the foundation of one of the The Imaging Source's central hardware components: FireWire cameras.
